On Thursday, November 5th, Peace Islands Institute’s Sisters in Spirit group held its’ second gathering in New Haven.

The discussion topic of the evening was ‘Items that represent individual spirituality and/or faith’. Women who identified themselves as followers of Christian, Jewish, Muslim and Pantheism beliefs were among the attendees.

After a brief opening and dinner, the Sisters in Spirit group shared the items that they brought. Some of the items included, a rock that is believed to have a spiritual value; divine melody books that belongs to the Christian religion; a world map; apple and honey belonging to the Jewish customs which symbolizes hopes for a sweet and fruitful year; a prayer rug, ascription items, prayer books and jewelry worn for protection in Islamic traditions were introduced and explained in detail.

The attendees enjoyed the evening as they learned from the astonishing value and beauty each item symbolizes.
