Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (1929-1968) was one of the most important people in the American History. He was the founder and leader of the civil rights movement, which was struggling against racial discrimination and the rights of the black people in the U.S.
The Peace Islands Institute hosted the U.S. Attorneys’ Office - Eastern District of Pennsylvania in their new office. The U.S. Attorneys’ Office organizes monthly workshops with Asian minorities to discuss the security issues in Philadelphia. PII hosted the U.S. Attorney’s Office and representatives of the Asian minorities in their January meeting.

Peace Islands Institute (PII) and Turkish Cultural Center of State College (TCCSC) hosted Dialogue and Friendship Dinner at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel on November 28, 2012. The theme of the event, "Art of living together: Cooperation of Civilization", reflected PII's ambition to contribute to enriching intercultural exchange within the State College community. The dinner provided a platform for discussing ways to use cultures and faiths in developing stronger neighborly relationships.
The Peace Islands Institute collaborated with Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel to organize a seminar about Sufism in Islam on the night of Wednesday, November 14 in Keneth Israel’s synagogue. Assistant Professor Heon C. Kim from East Stroudsburg University was invited to this event, and he presented an excellent speech about the subject.
The Peace Island Institute organized the 5th annual academic dinner at La Salle University. This year’s subject was “Religion and Contemporary Law, How Our Beliefs Shape Our Rules,” and Dr. Ori Soltes from Georgetown University was invited as a Keynote speaker.

The Peace Islands Institute organized an event in Eid al-Adha, a religious festival celebrated by Muslims worldwide as a commemoration of Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ishmael for Allah (God), and gave a lunch on Thursday, 25th at Temple University.
