
Turkish Cultural Center, Pioneer Academy of Science and Peace Islands Institute have united with Helping Hands Relief Foundation to contribute to ongoing relief efforts in Hoboken, NJ.
Hoboken-New Jersey has experienced severe damage from Hurricane Sandy and needed immediate aid. Hundreds of homes have been impaired as a result of flooding, leaving many residents without power, heat or food. Thousands of young volunteers, in accordance with FEMA, Red Cross and the Salvation Army, have assembled to assist the victims and to help them recover their homes.
On Monday, November 5th, the members of Turkish Cultural Center New Jersey, students from Pioneer Academy of Science and Peace Islands Institute –New Jersey have united with Helping Hands Relief Foundation to contribute to ongoing relief efforts. Noticing the lack of warm, nutritious food available to the victims and volunteers, contributors built their first tent in Hoboken, New Jersey from which they’ve distributed hot soup, Bread, Apple and bottle water to over [300] people. Since many areas are without electricity and power, hot soup was welcomed from all residences and also they have said “Thank you and God Bless you” The hard work displayed by all the volunteers will continue for days as they attempt to improve the living conditions for the hurricane victims.
